A friend commissioned me to make a logo around the phrase "BB21", a personal code between her and her husband. I chose to draw the B's as actual honeybees in the couple's likenesses.
Sidenote: A friend asked me why I dislike drawing pupils and irises. I honestly have no idea. I do draw pupils in certain situations, but I guess with animals it's different. Not including them here gives the couple an animal-esque feel without taking them too far away from their actual human likenesses.

Dr. Alexis Kuerbis is a good friend of mine living and working in New York City. Above are some proposals for a business card for her private counseling service, followed by her choice for the front and back side of the card. Alexis studies Buddhism, so I chose bold colors from the Tibetan palette. The fish are a sign of harmony, one of the Eight Auspicious Signs of Buddhism; since Dr. Kuerbis is from Southern California, I chose to make the fish Garibaldi, the bright orange natives of those waters.
